Free state trooper hat - take one

Written on a box of paper toilet seat covers, Sideling hill, Pennsylvania.
Breezy Valley truck, dirtier than the pigs crammed inside (They are only dirty because they don't have a choice)
Missing the bus while I was on the NJ Transit 166 Express (these buses don't talk, they don't have bike racks, and it's quite possible the driver carries change, how primitive they are, very much like Israeli buses.)

Going to sleep around 9:30 pm, and waking up at 8:30 am. I know I remembered my dream again, and that it was depressing, but by now I forgot the details.

Kosher Dill Pickles are like Reform Jews, an American invention based on knowledge brought over from European Jews.
Is it better to recycle jars or tins. I think tins take less energy to recycle, since they don't have to be seperated from their lids, and have less material, but maybe you end up with more usable material when recycling glass?

Emergency surgery succesful, caution in the future.

It seems the problem is at the cord, pinched by the corner of the desk, and pulled when it fell, it must now be massaged to work.
I'll see if I can get a replacment. Opening it up wasn't too hard.

Killed my Intuos3

Guess there won't be any digital art for awhile, unless my Wacom tablet magically revives overnight. ><

Ooh shiny

Ho hum reverse kidney transplant. Not quite what I hoped for.

Maybe I'll do a study of how other artists handle internal organs. Gotta be ready in case of zombie assassination.

Talking with my sexually abused friend is starting to get on my nerves.
Suicidal thoughts, nightmares, eating disorders, difficulty keeping a job...
Why is it so hard to take an anti-depressent?

Geotrupes splendidus

I have some other shiny things I'd like to improve on, so  this beetle isn't going to be the last one for awhile.
It should go to a body ship to fix that dent it has in the forward right panel :D

My sleep schedule is out of whack (at least when considering business hours) and I'm struggling at keeping it in some sort of shape for my winter break trip.
Mom keeps reminding me that I will have to keep "normal" hours for the sake of my hosts. :/

I forgot to buy desert, so that's another trip to the grocery store, which will have to be done while COTA still runs. Poop.

Hydricanthus iricolor

So what's up with these beetles you may ask.
Is there a beetle stamp competition which may make you a millionaire overnight, like the duck stamp? No, not as far as I know, and I doubt I would win even if there was.

I just felt I needed to work on rendering shiny things, and I believe it was also inspired by the fact that we will not be making a mechanical insect for advanced structural.

I got a letter from CCAD today, about how proud they were I was on the dean's list, and if I'd like to have published in my local newspaper.
Hah, I had a C and a D- in the first semester I came to CCAD, and I still made Dean's list.

Now I know what my mom was babbling about last year about the whole newspaper thing.

Tritoma Humeralis was listening to 88 fm out of Israel earlier today. It's a shame that it's so broken.
It only works under Safari on my Macbook, will only stream an hour before I have to refresh, etc.

It also made me reconsider how my taste in radio has changed.

Seems like I'm in the minority, but I still choose the radio over a large collection of MP3s, and I hope they will continue to broadcast for years to come.

Anyways, as a 13 year old used to Israeli stations, I was amazed by the American counterparts, especially Power 106 and dreamed that Israeli stations to be like it.
And how was it different? It revolved around one type of music, rap in Power's case, and it didn't have the news on at every hour.
The stations which made my dreams come true came alive in January 2000, as "Radio Ha'Sharon" changed it's format into "Radio bu" which would cast dance music aimed at the younger crowds, and cut out the hourly news broadcast. This continued when the station changed patronage and name to 99esc.
Since this station was broadcasting from the center while I was in the North, I always had a difficult time tuning in, and would often annoy my dad as I built antennae and flung them over the roof, constantly fiddling with it to get the best reception.
The dream ended in 2007, after Arcadi Gaydamak bought 95% of the station, and changed it into just another local station, with the usual talk shows, news casts and pop music playlists.
Reading the Hebrew wikipedia page tells he lost ownership of it, leaving it in a state of limbo.

But now that I'm in Ohio, 15 years later, the local hip-hop station, Power 107.5 just isn't cutting it anymore, but it's what's playing on the radio when I go to sleep, because it's the strongest signal out there.
It used to be WNCI but since I moved out of the college dorms into my own studio apartment, I can't get a good signal on my dinky little alarm radio, and it's not worth the extra effort.

What do I listen to now? Fusion Chicago is streaming from my Macbook right now, as usual.
If I get tired of hearing another X-mas dance mix like this one, Chances are I'll listen to the Psychedelic Trance stream from Radio Schizoid
or if I'm nostalgic, 88 fm.

Today's beetle is a Tritoma humeralis, a Pleasing Fungus Beetle, snagged from Tom Murray

Brand spanking new Blog.

As if I didn't have enough things to follow.

Granted, most of those are facebook apps, those things are horrible time suckers.

I have some paintings I did of beetles. Done in Corel Painter 11.
